V K Shaktiman

V K Shaktiman is based in Village Kowad, which is in the Taluka Chandgad area. We’ve been here for a long time, working the land in one way or another. This is a rural area and we mostly help out with local agricultural and construction needs. It’s just a small group of us. We don't have a big office or a fancy sign. Most people just know us by name. The work is hard and the days are long, especially during the busy seasons. We spend a lot of time maintaining our machines because the terrain around Kowad can be pretty rough on them. There’s always something that needs fixing or greasing. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, someone just stops by the house or the yard and asks if we can help them move some rocks or level a field. We don’t mind the hard work. It keeps us busy and pays the bills. Sometimes we have to travel a bit further out into the district for a job, but we always come back to Kowad. It’s a quiet life, mostly just the sound of the tractor or the excavator. We just keep our heads down and get on with it, day after day. It’s not the kind of job that makes you rich, but it’s what we know. We’ll be here tomorrow doing the same thing.
