Shiv Parwati Tiles

Our shop, Shiv Parwati Tiles, sits right on the Mohanpur Main Road. It’s a good spot because we are very close to the Shiv Mandir and the Brb College. You can often hear the bells from the temple in the morning. We get a lot of students walking past, though they aren't usually looking for tiles. Most of our customers are homeowners from the Mohanpur area who are building or repairing something. Tiles are heavy and awkward to move, so we spend a lot of time lifting crates. We carry all sorts, from simple floor tiles to some with patterns. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a warehouse feel where you can see the actual stock. It’s often a bit dusty inside because of the road traffic and the nature of the materials. We’ve been here for a long time, so most people know where to find us. If someone is looking for the Shiv Mandir, they usually pass our gates. It’s a family-run thing. My nephew helps me with the accounts, and we have a couple of workers for the heavy stuff. We don't go in for fancy marketing. We just talk to people plainly and show them what we have available. Sometimes we run out of a particular style and have to wait for the next truck to arrive. That’s just the way it goes. It’s a quiet enough life, except for the noise from the main road. We just try to be helpful and keep the business running steadily year after year. It is what it is.
