You can find us at 73, Chennai Bye Pass in Erumapalayam. It’s a large plot because we need the space for the cranes and the heavy equipment. Being on the bye pass is helpful for getting the machines out to different sites without getting stuck in the narrow city streets. The yard is mostly gravel and dirt, so it gets quite dusty when the wind picks up. We have a small office building on one side where we handle the paperwork and take calls. It’s a basic setup with a few desks and a very old filing cabinet that squeaks every time you open it. Most of our time is spent outside checking the engines or making sure the cables are in good shape. It’s greasy work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the day. Erumapalayam has a lot of industrial activity, so we fit right in with the other yards around here. The sun can be really harsh out on the pavement, so we try to do the heavy lifting in the early hours. We have a couple of dogs that hang around the gate and keep us company. There isn't much shade except for under the machines themselves. We’ve been at this spot for several years, and the traffic on the Chennai Bye Pass just seems to get heavier every year. It’s a straightforward business, and we just keep the equipment running as best as we can. It's a long day usually.
