Sree Ramana Stores

Sree Ramana Stores is a small shop located in the Khaderpet area of Rayapuram. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights out front. It is just a simple place where we sell everyday items to the people living nearby. The shop has been in the family for a good bit of time, and the walls show the age of the building. We spend most of our time behind the counter, weighing things out or helping customers find what they need in the back. Rayapuram is a tight-knit place, so we hear all the local news just by sitting here and talking to everyone who walks through the door. The street outside can get pretty narrow and crowded, especially when people are parked haphazardly, but that is just part of being in Khaderpet. We try to keep things organized, though sometimes the shelves get a bit messy when we are busy. We don't use any high-tech systems; just a pen, a notebook, and a calculator to keep the accounts. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for the occasional festive season when things get a bit more hectic. We just stay focused on being here every day, rain or shine. If the door is open, we are ready to work. It is not a glamorous job, but it is honest and it keeps us connected to our neighbors.
