Saravanan Ice Cream Parlour

Our parlour is inside the Madhan Silk Complex. We are right on Sangagiri Main Road in Kondalam Patti. Being in the complex means we get a lot of people who are out shopping for clothes. They come in here to sit down and take a break. Saravanan Ice Cream Parlour isn't very large. We have just enough space for the freezers and a small counter. The floor is tile, which makes it easier to clean when things melt. We have to be careful with the electricity because the bill can get very high with all these cooling units. My brother helps me with the accounts in the evening. We keep all the receipts in a shoebox. It’s not a high-tech system, but we know where everything is. The traffic on Sangagiri Main Road is always heavy. You can hear the horns honking all day long. Sometimes it gets a bit stressful, but you get used to it after a while. We stock the usual stuff that people expect to find. We don't try to do anything too weird with the flavors. It’s mostly just the standard ones that sell well. We open up around ten in the morning. The first few hours are usually just us cleaning and waiting for the first delivery. By the evening, it gets much busier. We stay open until the last shops in the complex close their shutters for the night. It’s a long day.
