Kishore Dental Clinic

Mecheri is a quiet place mostly, but our clinic stays fairly busy throughout the week. We are located right here in the Salem district. Most people around here are hardworking and don’t really think about their teeth until something starts hurting. That is when they show up at our door. We spend a lot of time explaining how to brush better. The office is simple. We have the basic tools and a chair that has seen better days but still works fine. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the fan is always running. Sometimes patients come from the surrounding villages and they bring their whole families. It gets a bit crowded in the small waiting area then. We do a lot of extractions because people wait too long to see us. It’s a bit sad but that’s the reality of a rural practice. We try to keep our prices fair because we know everyone in the community. I’ve been working here for a long time now. My hands are used to the work. We don’t have fancy digital screens or anything like that. Just the usual stuff you need to fix a cavity or handle a gum infection. The people here are nice and they often bring us fruit or snacks from their farms as a thank you. It makes the long days in Mecheri feel worth it in the end. We just keep things moving and help whoever walks in the door.
