South & North Combines

Our place is in Village Sheikhupur, right near the railway station. You can hear the trains passing by all day long, which is something you just get used to after a week of working here at South & North Combines. We’ve been in this village for a long time. The name of our business comes from the fact that we try to bring together different things, but we aren't fancy about it. It’s a very basic setup. We have a small warehouse and a couple of rooms where we do the packing. The road outside is mostly dirt, so it gets muddy when it rains, and we have to be careful about bringing that inside. We don’t have a website or a big sales team. Most of our business comes from people who know us or who see our sign by the tracks. We spend a lot of time just talking to the drivers who come to pick up loads. We drink a lot of tea and just keep things moving. It’s a slow-paced life in Sheikhupur, and we like it that way. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure we do a decent job every day and that our families are taken care of. It’s just us, the trains, and the work we do with our hands. It might not look like much to an outsider, but it’s what we know.
