Shabu Enterprises

We are located in Gali Maliyan No. 2, over in the Mehndi Sarai area. Shabu Enterprises is a small operation, mostly run by family and a couple of neighbors. The lane is quite narrow, so you have to walk or bring a scooter; cars don't really fit well through here. We deal with general trading and some small-scale manufacturing. Our workspace is basically a couple of rooms filled with boxes and bags of goods. It gets a bit dark inside during the afternoon, but we have some tube lights that do the trick. We’ve been in Mehndi Sarai for as long as I can remember. My uncle started this, and we just took over when he got too old. We don't have any big signs or anything. People just know to look for the blue door in the second alley. Most of our day is spent counting inventory or talking to suppliers on the phone. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we know. We close the shop during the hottest part of the day sometimes to rest and then open back up until the sun goes down. It’s a busy neighborhood with lots of kids playing in the street and people selling vegetables right outside. We like the community here. It’s not a fancy business, just Shabu Enterprises doing what we’ve always done in this little corner of the city. We hope to keep the doors open for many more years.
