R. A. Wooden Arts

My shop is located right over at Aali Ki Chungi. It’s called R. A. Wooden Arts, though mostly people just know us by the sound of the saws running. The air usually smells like fresh cut timber and a bit of varnish. I’ve been working with wood for years, and it’s a messy job, honestly. My hands are always covered in dust or some kind of stain. We make all sorts of things here, mostly stuff people need for their homes. It’s not like those big factories where everything looks exactly the same. Here, you might find a knot in the wood or a slight difference in the grain because that’s just how trees grow. We spend a lot of time sanding and checking the joints. It’s quiet work except for the machines. Sometimes neighbors stop by just to see what’s being built this week. The space is a bit cramped with all the stacks of lumber leaning against the walls. We don't have a big showroom or anything like that. People just come to the workshop. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, but we keep going. If someone needs a table or a frame, they usually find their way to us. I started this because I like making things that last. It’s hard work on the back and the knees, but seeing a finished piece of furniture makes it worth the effort. We just take one order at a time and finish it.
