It’s a noisy spot but it’s convenient for getting the grain delivered. We spend our whole day dealing with wheat and flour, so everything has a thin layer of white dust on it, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the business. The rollers make a steady humming sound that you stop noticing after the first hour of work. We aren't a giant corporation with polished hallways; we are just a group of people working in a mill. Some of us have been here since we were young, and we know the machines by the sounds they make when they’re running right. When a part breaks, we usually fix it ourselves unless it’s something really big. The office is just a small room with a desk and a few chairs where we keep track of the bags going out.
