Lord Krishna Children Academy

Over in Vishnu Colony, which is a part of Laksar in Haridwar, you’ll find Lord Krishna Children Academy. It’s not a very big place, just a few buildings set back from the lane. The colony itself is usually full of people and small shops, so there is always something going on nearby. Our school has a bit of a yard where the kids gather in the morning, and we have a few trees that give some relief from the sun. The classrooms are basic, with white-washed walls that we try to keep clean, though the kids always find a way to leave marks. We have a simple staff who mostly live in the Laksar area, so we all know each other pretty well. It’s a very local feel here. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or big signs. Most people just know us because they live down the street or their cousins came here years ago. The furniture is a bit mismatched in some rooms, and the bell is just a piece of metal that someone hits with a hammer. It gets the job done. In the winters, the mist from the fields around Haridwar hangs over the playground until mid-morning. We just keep to our routine, teaching the lessons and making sure the gate is locked at the right time. It’s an honest, simple place for the neighborhood kids.
