Jai Bharat Rice Mills

Our mill is right on the By Pass Road in Saharanpur. If you are driving past, you can usually see the big gates and maybe some trucks parked outside waiting their turn. It is a loud place once the machinery starts up in the morning. The sound of the rice being processed fills the whole area. We don't have a fancy reception or anything like that. Most of the space is taken up by the milling equipment and the storage areas for the paddy. It gets very hot inside during the summer months, but we just keep the fans running and stay focused on the work. We get farmers bringing in their crops from the surrounding fields, so there is a lot of back and forth throughout the day. The ground is usually covered in husks and dust, which is just part of the daily life at a rice mill. We have been operating here on the bypass for quite some time now, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. We load the finished rice into sacks, stitch them up, and stack them high. It is hard work, especially when the humidity is high, but it’s what we do. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on getting the rice ready for the market and making sure the machines don’t break down in the middle of a big batch.
