Our place, Bhumi Ceramics, is situated out on the Vijapur Highway in Savagadh. It’s easy to find because we are directly opposite the Hotel Way Wait. Being on the highway means we see a lot of trucks and travelers passing by every single day. The dust from the road is something we just have to live with, especially during the dry season. We spend a lot of our time moving things around and making sure everything is in its right place. The office is just a small part of the whole setup, mostly used for handling the money and the orders that come in. It’s a very practical environment, as ceramics are heavy and take up a lot of space. We don't have a lot of frills here. Most of the day is spent on our feet, dealing with whatever needs to be handled right then and there. The Hotel Way Wait across the road is where we usually point people if they need a landmark or a place to eat. It’s a busy spot, and the noise from the highway is something you just stop hearing after a while. We’ve been in Savagadh for a long time, and we’ve seen the highway get busier and busier over the years. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the work we have in front of us. It is a simple life.
