Sameer Driving School

The school is located at No. 7 near the BSNL telephone exchange in Mohali. It is a busy area, which is actually good for people who are learning to drive. They get used to the traffic right away. We have a couple of cars that we use for the lessons. They are not new, but they work fine for teaching. We have added those extra pedals on the left side so we can stop the car if the student makes a mistake. Most people get a bit panicked the first time they go into third gear. We just tell them to keep their eyes on the road. Chandigarh has those big roundabouts that can be very confusing for beginners. We spend a lot of time practicing how to enter and exit them without hitting anyone. The office is a tiny room where we keep the registration books and the schedules. There is a calendar with a lot of names crossed out. We start the first lesson at seven in the morning when it is still a bit quiet. By midday, the sun is very strong and the car gets hot inside. We have some old maps of the city on the wall even though everyone uses phones now. It is a straightforward job. We just help people get comfortable behind the wheel and pass their test. We have been doing this for years in this part of Punjab. The steering wheel feels quite smooth now.
