Ess Ess Engineering

Our shop is over at F-76 in the Phase 7 Industrial Area. It’s a loud neighborhood, especially in the afternoons when everyone is running their heavy gear. Ess Ess Engineering has been operating out of this unit for some time. We have a few lathes and a couple of guys who really know how to handle them. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with orders to worry about that. Most of the time, the floor is covered in oily rags and metal scraps. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledger. It’s mostly just making parts and checking them against the drawings people bring in. Sometimes someone brings in a drawing on a napkin, and we have to figure it out from there. It gets pretty hot inside during the summer months, so we keep the big fans blowing all day. The tea is always hot though. We don’t do much advertising; people just know we are here at F-76. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. We see the same faces every morning at the gate. It's nothing fancy, just a solid place to get metal work done without any fuss. We try to get things out the door on time, even when the machines act up or the material delivery is late.
