Panch Kedar Kisan Producer Company Limited

In the village of Sansari, which is part of Ukhimath in Rudraprayag, we run the Panch Kedar Kisan Producer Company Limited. It’s a beautiful place to live, right in the shadow of the big mountains, but it’s not an easy place to run a business. We are a collection of local farmers who decided to pool our resources. Our office is just a small room in the village where we keep our records and meet up to talk. You won't find any slick advertising here. We mostly rely on word of mouth and the relationships we’ve built over the years. The land here is sacred to us, and we try to treat it with respect. Farming at this altitude is a bit of a gamble with the weather, but we’ve gotten used to it. We mostly grow traditional crops that do well in the cold. It’s a lot of walking up and down the slopes, carrying bags on our backs. We aren't a big team, just a few of us who handle the organizing while everyone else is out in the fields. Sometimes the transport takes forever because of the mountain roads, but we do our best to get things out on time. It’s a simple life, focused on the soil and the seasons. We just want to make sure the farmers in Sansari get what they deserve for their hard work.
