Chariot Cement Company

Down here in Liploi, near the Aurobindo School, we run the Chariot Cement Company. It’s a dusty job, as you can imagine, but someone has to do it. Rajgangpur has plenty of construction going on, so there is always a need for cement. We spend most of our mornings checking the bags and making sure the loaders are ready. It’s a local operation, and we know many of the drivers by their first names. They stop by, get their loads, and head out to sites all over Sundargarh. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning; it's more about being on the ground where the work happens. Sometimes the rain slows things down, which is a bit of a headache, but we just wait it out and get back to it. My family has been around this area for a long time, so we care about what happens in the community. We don't use big words to describe what we do. It is just cement and logistics. If you need a few bags or a whole truckload, we try to get it sorted. There are days when the phone doesn't stop ringing and days when it’s a bit quieter, giving us time to sweep up the place. It's a simple business, really. We just show up every day at our spot near the school and get to work.
