You can find us at the Mandi cell over at the IIT campus. Working inside a place like IIT is interesting because there is always something happening, yet our little corner remains pretty quiet. We’ve been here for quite some time now, handling the administrative and technical tasks that come our way. The office is very functional. It’s full of old desks, stacked papers, and a few computers that have seen better days. We don’t have any of those modern office perks. Our days are mostly spent going through data or organizing records for the department. It’s steady work and it keeps us occupied. Most of the people who work here have been together for years, so we know each other’s stories and families pretty well. We have our little routines, like who makes the tea in the morning and who shuts the windows before we leave. Sometimes a student wanders in looking for directions or a specific office, and we do our best to point them the right way. It’s a bit of a maze in this part of the campus. We don’t have any big slogans on the walls or corporate posters. We just show up every morning, do what needs to be done, and try to keep things organized. It’s a simple, honest job in a place that feels like home to most of us by now. The Mandi cell is just where we happen to be.
