Jaypee Sidhi Cement plant

The Jaypee Sidhi Cement plant has been around this part of Maihar for a good while now. Most folks in Shahdol and Katni know where we are because of the trucks coming and going all day. Working with cement isn't the cleanest job in the world, and it gets pretty dusty around the plant, especially when the wind picks up. We spend most of our time just keeping the machines running and making sure the bags get loaded right. It is a lot of heavy lifting and the sun can be really brutal in this part of the country. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend half the night fixing things so the morning shift can start on time. It is just the way things go here. We aren't trying to do anything fancy or talk big about what we do. We just make cement. People need it for houses and roads, so we keep producing it day after day. The commute from the nearby towns isn't too bad, though the roads get a bit rough with all the heavy traffic. We have a lot of local guys working here who have been part of the crew for years. You get used to the noise of the grinders after a while. It just becomes part of the background. We don't have any big speeches or flashy signs. We just show up, do the work, and go home to our families.
