Up here in Neeli Bhalessa, life moves at its own pace. Our school is tucked away in this part of Jammu, and it's where the local girls come for their higher secondary studies. It’s a simple setup, nothing too flashy or modern. We have the standard classrooms and a staff room where we sit and discuss the day’s plans. The road to get here can be a bit rough sometimes, but the students make the trek every day without complaining much. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the exams are handled properly. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows for more light. The mountains are right there in the background, which is nice to look at during the lunch hour. Most of us who work here are from nearby villages, so we understand the local life. We don't have a big website or a public relations team. Usually, parents just walk in if they need to talk about their daughter's progress. We keep a ledger for the fees and a bell that someone has to ring manually. It is a quiet place for the most part, except when the girls are out in the yard between periods. We try to keep the building maintained, though a fresh coat of paint is usually needed every few years. It's just a regular school doing its bit in 182203. We see these students grow up and move on, and that is what matters most to us.
