We are located at house number 3303, on survey number 59/5 in Patharde. That’s in Ratnagiri. Like many others in this region, we are all about cashews. The Tharwal family has been around here for a long time. We have our processing unit right on the land. It’s a lot of work during the harvest season. You see the trucks coming in with sacks of raw nuts from the local farms. We have to dry them out in the sun first. The weather can be a problem if it rains unexpectedly. Then comes the roasting and the shelling. It’s a messy process, your hands get stained from the oil in the shells. But the smell of roasted cashews is something you get used to. We don't have a fancy showroom. If you come to Patharde, you’ll just see our workspace and the piles of nuts. We sell to wholesalers mostly, but some locals stop by too. Our team knows exactly how to sort the nuts by size and quality. It’s a skill you learn by doing it for years. We don't use a lot of high-tech machinery. A lot of it is still done by hand because that’s the way to get the best results. We are just a local business trying to make a living off what the land gives us. It’s a tough job but it’s what we know and we've been doing it a while.
