Shirke Masale Private Limited

Shirke Masale Private Limited is our small operation in Chiplun. We’re located in Soniya Apartment, specifically flat 203, which is quite close to Gurukul College. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a business maybe, being in an apartment building, but it works for what we do. The smell of the spices we work with is very strong. When we are blending or packing masale, the whole hallway sometimes smells like coriander or cloves. People in the building are used to it by now. We started this because spices are such a big part of how everyone eats around here. We don't have a big factory with conveyor belts. Most of what we do is small-scale and careful. We have to keep a close eye on the weather because moisture is the enemy of good spice powder. Chiplun gets a lot of rain during the monsoon, so those months are always a bit of a struggle to keep everything dry and fresh. We are just a local family-run type of place. We don’t have a big mission statement or any of that. We just want to make sure the packets we sell are good enough for our own kitchens. It’s honest work and it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. Being near the college means there’s always a lot of young people around, which keeps the area feeling fresh and lively for us.
