Kalukhedi is where we operate, specifically at Vishnu Gendalal Patidar's place. This house is where records are kept and crop talk happens. Our group of farmers from the Ratlam area decided working together was best. Big goals aren't really our thing, we just want to keep the farming sustainable. Local soil grows certain things well, and that’s what we deal with. It's a simple enough setup. Mornings are spent in the fields and then we might meet up later to discuss prices. Kalukhedi stays quiet, which is how we like it. Fancy marketing doesn't happen here. When someone needs seeds or harvest advice, they just walk over. Being at this for a while now has shown us it’s better than working alone. Knowledge and tools are shared between us. Bureaucracy is a headache sometimes, but we get through the paperwork eventually. Day-to-day farming work stays the main focus. A big office with computers isn't necessary when you have ledgers and experience. Run by people who live here and work the ground every day, it’s a very local operation. Keeping the farms going and the families fed is why we do it. Honest work for local people is what matters in this village, and we plan to stay that way.
