Ratlam Bazaar

Ratlam Bazaar is located inside Hamid Market, right where Sneh Tour and Travels is at number 12. It is a busy little corner of the market. We have shelves packed with all sorts of items and sometimes it’s hard to find what you are looking for without asking. The market is always crowded, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. We spend our day unpacking crates and putting things on display. It gets quite warm in the shop because the ceiling fan is old and doesn't move much air. We talk to a lot of people every day, mostly locals who have been coming here for years. The floor is made of old stone and it has some cracks in it. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when there aren't many customers. Sometimes we help out with the travel side of things too, since we are right there. It is a lot of paperwork and checking schedules. Ratlam is a nice place but it’s loud. We keep a jug of water behind the door for when we get thirsty. It is a simple shop and we don't try to make it look like something it isn't. Just a place to buy what you need and have a quick chat. We close up when the market lights go down. Most days are long but we enjoy the work.
