Parshapur Women Farmer Producer Companylimited is run by women from the Maddur area in Mahabubnagar. Our main spot is at house number 5-89/1. We started this because we wanted a way to manage our crops better and get a fair deal for what we grow. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, helping our parents, and now we are doing it for ourselves. It’s a lot of work balancing the farm and our homes, but we make it work. The office is a small place where we keep our records and meet to talk about the next planting cycle. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on our own hard work and the support of the other women in the group. Sometimes we sit around on the floor and talk through the problems we are having with the soil or the pests. It’s a practical way of doing things. Being in Mahabubnagar, we deal with the heat and the dry spells as they come. We are just trying to build something that lasts for our kids.
