Start with the place. Osman Nagar. We are at Mayfairvillas. It's a farm business, mostly sandalwood. My family and I started this in Kodipally. It's not a big office, just our home at 27-9/Mf/152. Sandalwood takes a long time to grow. You have to wait years for the heartwood to form. We spend our days checking the saplings and making sure the soil is okay. It’s hard work in the sun but someone has to do it. The address is long, but it’s easy to find once you are in Serilingampally. We keep track of the trees and the fences. People ask why sandalwood, and we just tell them it's what we know. We aren't trying to be the biggest around, just doing our part in Rangareddy. The weather here is okay for the trees, mostly. Sometimes the rain is too much, sometimes not enough. We deal with it as it comes. We've been here a while now, watching the plants get taller. It's quiet work. Not much happens fast in this business. We just stay busy with the daily chores around the farm. If you pass by Mayfairvillas, that is where we operate from. It's just us and the trees. We check the water pipes every morning. Sometimes the local birds peck at the young shoots, so we have to watch out for that. It’s just life on a farm. We don't mind the slow pace at all. It gives us time to think and work properly on each tree we have.
