Out here in Shamshabad, things move at their own speed depending on what season it is. We are running Chittora Farmer Producer Company Limited right from where Pravesh Kumar lives, which makes things pretty straightforward for us. It isn’t some big office building with glass walls or anything like that. It’s more of a place where farmers can actually come and talk without feeling like they need to dress up or act formal. We deal with the day-to-day reality of growing things and trying to find the right buyers for the produce. Sometimes the weather is against us and other times everything works out fine, which is just how it goes in this line of work. We spend a lot of time talking to the local guys about their harvests and what they might need for the next planting cycle. Being a farmer producer company means we’re all in this together, so if one of us is having a rough time with their crops, we all hear about it and try to help. There’s a lot of paperwork involved which nobody really likes doing, but we sit around the table and get through it anyway. Shamshabad is changing a lot with all the new buildings popping up, but the farming side of things is still what we focus on. We don’t have any fancy slogans. We just open up in the morning, check the messages, and see what the fields are looking like today.
