The yard is over at Plot 168 in Vayupuri, which is part of Block 39 in Malkajgiri. It’s a loud place, honestly. Between the cement mixers turning and the trucks backing in, there is always some kind of noise. We deal with ready-mix concrete, so time is always against us once the load is ready. The ground is always a bit wet because we’re constantly washing down the equipment. Everything in the office, including the desk with our H No 39 168 records, is covered in a thin layer of gray dust, no matter how much we wipe it. It’s hard, physical work and the sun beats down on the yard all day. We have a small crew of drivers and guys who handle the mixing plant. We don't have any fancy marketing people. We just talk to the builders and contractors who need stuff for their sites. Malkajgiri has so much construction going on right now that we stay pretty busy. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in traffic, and that’s a real headache for everyone. We just drink some water and try to stay cool while we wait. It isn't a glamorous job, but the city is growing and we are part of making that happen. We just focus on the next load and making sure the mix is what it needs to be for the job. You can usually find me near the main gate checking the logbook when the trucks roll out in the morning.
