Balu Publications

We’ve been here at Plot No 6 in Sai Homes for a while now. If you know Gurram Guda, it’s not hard to find us. We mostly handle printing stuff. People from Saroor Nagar come by when they need books or documents done up. The shop isn't huge, but it fits what we need. Sometimes the machines get a bit loud, especially in the afternoons when we have a lot of work piled up. My cousin helps out when things get busy. We don’t have a fancy sign or anything, just the name Balu Publications on the front. Ranga Reddy district has changed a lot lately, more traffic for sure. Most of our days are just spent checking proofs and making sure the ink looks right on the paper. It gets dusty around here sometimes because of the construction nearby, so we spend a lot of time cleaning off the counters. We usually open up around nine. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s a quiet life mostly. We know most of the neighbors in Sai Homes now. They drop by just to say hello or ask for a quick copy of something. It’s just how we do things here. Nothing too complicated or formal. We just try to get the pages printed right and hope the customer is happy with it when they pick it up. It’s a small place but it works for our needs now.
