Yaseen Hollow Bricks

Yaseen Hollow Bricks is located at 56/96 in Manikonda, within the K V Rangareddy district. This whole area has changed so fast. We used to be on the edge of things, but now the city has caught up to us. We spend our days mixing cement and sand to make these hollow blocks. It’s heavy work and by the time evening comes, my back usually aches. We have a small crew of workers who live nearby. We don't have a big corporate office. Our office is just a small room with a desk and a couple of plastic chairs where we talk to builders. The yard is full of bricks stacked high. We have to water them down every day so they set properly. Sometimes the water pressure is low and it takes forever to finish. We don't have a website or any social media. If people want bricks, they just come to Manikonda and look for our sign. Most of our customers are small contractors who are building local houses. We try to be helpful and give them what they need. The sound of the mixer is constant from morning until late afternoon. It’s a gritty job, but it’s ours. We’ve been here through the heat and the rain. We just keep making bricks, one day at a time, and hope the builders keep coming back to see us.
