Sri Ram Bhandar

Located at Sharma Chowk in the Dhurwa area of Ranchi, Sri Ram Bhandar is a place we’ve been running for some time. We are right near the Dhurwa bus stand, so there’s always the sound of engines and people shouting for passengers. The shop is full of various goods, mostly things for the kitchen and the home. We have a lot of large metal bins for the grains. It’s a bit crowded inside because we try to keep a lot of variety. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when we have fresh sacks of flour sitting in the middle of the floor. We don't have fancy glass displays or anything. Most things are just stacked where they fit. The walls have some old paint peeling off, but we don't mind it much. Our main focus is just making sure the jars are full. Since we are at Sharma Chowk, we see the same commuters every single day. Some stop by for a quick chat. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants something, they just walk in and ask. Sometimes we have to look through the back room to find a specific item. It’s a busy life, especially during the festival times when everyone is buying extra. We just keep the doors open and do our bit. It’s a simple shop for the people living around here in Ranchi. We don't try to be anything else. The scale we use is old, but it works fine.
