Sarvotam Masale

Our place, Sarvotam Masale, is located at 281 in Vidya Nagar. We’re in the Kumhartoli area, right near Kids Zone School, so you can always hear the kids playing or shouting during recess. It’s a nice sound to have in the background while we’re working. Spices take up our whole day, so the entire area usually smells like cumin or turmeric, depending on what we’re grinding that morning. This is a small operation. A lot of time goes into weighing things out and sealing up bags. Dusty work is just part of the deal when you’re handling masale. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular house turned into a workspace. Regulars know exactly where to find us. Since we are near the school, people find it easy to give directions to our spot. No money gets spent on big ads or anything like that. Instead, word usually travels around the neighborhood by itself. Mostly it is just family and a couple of helpers doing the heavy lifting. Work starts early to beat the heat and we wrap up when the sun goes down. Life is simple here. Focusing on the spices lets the day take care of itself. There’s always a bag to move or a machine to fix. We just keep at it day after day without too much complaining. It’s what we know and how we spend our time here.
