Our place is over in Arvindo Nagar, down in Doranda. It’s number 156, a building that’s seen a lot of years and could probably use some repairs. You can usually tell you’re getting close because the air starts to smell like different spices being mixed and packed for the market. We have a small crew here, mostly people from the local neighborhood who have been with us since the start. It’s not a fancy factory with robots or anything; it’s mostly just us working with the grinders and the bagging machines. Some days are busier than others, especially when a big shipment of raw spices comes in and we have to sort everything out by hand. The office is just a small room with a couple of chairs and a fan that squeaks a bit when it’s on high. We keep our records in big binders and try to stay on top of the orders as they come through the mail or over the phone. Doranda is a decent place to work, even if the roads get a bit muddy when it rains hard during the monsoon. We don't really do much advertising or have a big sign outside. People around here just know us as the spice folks who have been here forever. We just try to put in a good day's work and get home in time for dinner. It’s a straightforward business, and we like it that way. No drama, just spices.
