Reliance Minerals

Our office is located right in the middle of New A.G. Co-Operative Colony in Kadru. It’s actually at J.P. Sinha’s place, house number 273. Ranchi has changed a lot lately, but this part of town still feels like a proper neighborhood. We deal with minerals, which sounds like big business, but our day-to-day routine is actually pretty quiet and slow. We sit around the desks, talk to vendors, and manage the paper records. There are a lot of files everywhere and they keep growing. Being in a residential colony means we see the neighbors walking their dogs or kids coming home from school while we work. It’s not a corporate park with a canteen or anything fancy. Usually, we just bring lunch from home in tiffin boxes or order something from the small shops around the corner. The office is a bit cramped because of all the rock samples and old paperwork we keep for records. We don’t bother with fancy decorations on the walls. They just have some old calendars and a map of the mining areas. It gets quite cold here in the winter, so we all wear heavy sweaters and drink lots of tea while typing. People stop by to discuss business and we usually offer them some water and a seat. It’s a simple setup. We like being in Kadru because it’s central but doesn't feel like the chaotic market. It's just a regular house.
