Our shop, M Dea Software And Hardware Solutions, is located right in the New Area of Morabadi. It’s a fairly small space that is usually filled with screwdrivers, various spare parts, and a bunch of half-opened laptops sitting on the counter. I spend most of my day hunched over a cluttered desk with a magnifying glass, trying to figure out why a phone won't turn on or why a computer is making that loud clicking sound. It’s honestly messy work. My fingers often have little cuts from the sharp edges of the metal casings we have to pry open. People come in looking really stressed out because they lost their family photos or their screen cracked right before a big meeting. I just take the device from them, look at it, and tell them what I think I can do. Sometimes it’s a quick fix that takes ten minutes, and other times I have to be honest and tell them it’s just not worth the repair cost. We have shelves full of tangled old cables and boxes of keyboards that we might need some day. It definitely isn't a shiny showroom for new products. The air smells a bit like solder and old dust most of the time. We handle both the software side, like fixing weird glitches, and the hardware, like swapping out a battery that has finally died. It’s just how we make a living here in Morabadi. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
