Hindustan Confectionary

Well, this is Hindustan Confectionary on Ashok Nagar Road in Ranchi. We are situated right across from the Airtel Express office. It’s a good spot because people come for their phone issues and then they see the glass jars full of sweets and can’t help but come in. I’ve got all sorts of biscuits, chocolates, and those local snacks that people like to have with their evening tea. It’s not just sweets though, I keep some bread and eggs and the basic things you’d need if you didn't want to go to the big market. The shop smells a bit like sugar and plastic packaging. I’ve been running this for several years now. It gets quite busy around five or six in the evening when everyone is heading home from work. I have a small light that flickers a bit, but it does the job. I don't have any fancy displays, just the boxes stacked up where there’s space. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in with just a few coins, and I have to find something small for them to buy. It’s a nice way to spend the day, even if it’s a bit tiring standing up all the time. Being in 834002, we get a mix of all kinds of people, and I try to keep the stuff they ask for most often in stock. It’s a simple life and it keeps me going day to day.
