If you walk down Kanke Road, you’ll probably find us by the smell of what’s cooking in the back of the shop. We spend most of our time around sugar, flour, and the big frying pans that have been with us for years. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and making sure the recipes turn out the same way they did yesterday. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s just a shop where we make sweets and snacks for the local folks who live around here. Some people come in every single morning for their favorites, and others just stop by when they have a big celebration at home. We try to keep the shelves stocked with fresh things, though sometimes we run out of certain items faster than we expected. The kitchen can get pretty hot, especially in the middle of summer, but that’s just part of the job we chose. We don’t use any fancy machines for every little thing; a lot of it is still done by hand because that’s how we learned from the start. We aren't trying to be the biggest or most famous place in the city. We just want to be the place on Kanke Road where you can get something honest and tasty for a fair price. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy from early morning until the sun goes down. We really appreciate the people who have been coming to us for years and always have a bit of time for a chat.
