Chhotanagpur Mathematical Society

We are located at 104 Sai Apartment in Ranchi. It’s a residential building, so it feels more like a home than a school. We wanted it that way so people feel relaxed when they come to talk about math. Being the Chhotanagpur Mathematical Society, we spend a lot of time looking at equations and charts. It’s a quiet space, which is good for thinking. We have shelves full of journals and old math books that have been around longer than some of the students. The apartment isn’t very large, but we’ve managed to fit enough desks for the people who visit us. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most people hear about us from their teachers or friends who have been here before. We just sit around the tables and work through things. Sometimes we have meetings where we just discuss different ways to look at old problems. It’s a very specific kind of place for people who actually enjoy numbers. We don't have fancy decorations, just a few chalkboards and some chairs that might squeak a little when you sit down. It’s a local society, run by people who live right here in the area. We’ve seen the city change a lot from our window in Sai Apartment, but the math stays the same. The door sticks a bit in the rainy season, but we just leave it open then.
