Balaji Namkeens

Balaji Namkeens is located right at House No. 13 in the Tallaiya area. We are very close to the Sai Mandir, so we often hear the bells and the people visiting the temple throughout the day. Our place is usually filled with the smell of spices and hot oil because we are always busy making different kinds of snacks. Durga Chowk is a local landmark, and most people around here know exactly where we are based on the smell alone. It’s a family-run kind of thing, where everyone knows their job and we just get on with it. The kitchen area gets really hot, especially in the afternoons, but that’s where the best namkeens are made. We don't have a polished showroom; it’s just our house and our workspace combined into one busy spot. We spend a lot of time weighing out the portions and sealing the packets by hand. Sometimes we run out of space because of all the ingredients we have to keep on hand, like the flour and the different salts. It’s a bit messy at times, but it’s a good kind of mess. People from the neighborhood often stop by to say hello or to see what’s fresh out of the fryer. We don't do anything fancy, we just make our snacks the way we always have, right here in Tallaiya, making sure every batch is as good as the last one.
