Baba Engineering

Baba Engineering is located in Krishna Puri, Chutia, and we are quite close to the railway station. Being near the tracks means that our workday is punctuated by the sounds of train whistles and the rumbling of the carriages passing by. The shop itself is a practical space where we handle various engineering and repair jobs. It is filled with the smell of machine oil and the sight of metal parts in different stages of being fixed. We have benches that are stained with years of grease and shelves packed with all sorts of nuts, bolts, and old components. It’s not a very tidy place, but we know exactly where every tool is kept. Most of the people who come to us are locals from the Chutia area or workers who need something repaired quickly. We spend a lot of time with our hands covered in grime, working on engines or other mechanical pieces. The light in the shop isn't the best, so we often have to move our work closer to the door to see what we are doing. We’ve been in this spot for many years and have become a familiar part of the neighborhood near the station. There isn't any fancy office work here; it’s all about the machines and getting them back into working order. We don't bother with much talk or promotion, we just get on with whatever job is in front of us. It is just a small, local engineering shop.
