Islamiah Matriculation Higher Secondary School

Being located right on ECR Road in Kilakarai makes things interesting for us. The sea isn’t too far away, so we get that salty air coming through the windows most days. Islamiah Matriculation Higher Secondary School has been here for quite some time now. You can tell by the way the older parts of the building look. We handle students from the primary years all the way up to higher secondary. It is a lot of work keeping everything organized. The morning starts early for the staff. We see the buses pulling up and the students rushing in before the bell. Kilakarai is a tight-knit place, so most people around here know someone who went to school at Islamiah. We have a playground that gets a lot of use, though it is mostly just dirt and some grass patches. The teachers spend their breaks in the staff room drinking tea and talking about the day’s plans. It is not a quiet place, especially when the traffic on ECR is heavy. We do our best to keep the garden areas green, but the heat can be really tough on the plants. Most of the year it is just about getting through the syllabus and making sure the exams go smoothly. We do not have many big events, just the usual ones. It is a steady kind of life here for the staff and the students who walk through our doors every morning.
