You can find me over at 5 18 Bharathiyar Street in Velipattanam. Ramanathapuram is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else, or at least they know your uncle or your cousin. I’ve lived in this district for my whole life, and Bharathiyar Street has been my base for a long time. My setup is simple. I don’t have any neon signs or big posters. Just a small board and a door that stays open most of the day to let the breeze in, though the breeze is usually pretty hot. I deal with people from all over the Ramnad district who come by for various bits of help or business. I spend my mornings checking through what needs to be done and my afternoons meeting people. Sometimes we sit on the porch if it’s too stuffy inside the room. I like the rhythm of this place. The salt air from the coast makes things rust a bit faster, but you just learn to paint over it every now and then. I usually have the radio playing softly in the background, mostly just for the news or some old songs. I don't really believe in making a big fuss about things. If someone comes to me, I just see what the situation is and go from there. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy enough to stay out of trouble. It's a quiet life.
