Yaa Dattar Marble

We’ve been here at this spot near Tasol Road in Pasoond for quite some time now. If you drive down N.H. 8, you’ll see our yard. It is mostly filled with different types of marble slabs we’ve collected. Working with stone isn't always easy because it is heavy and the sun gets really hot out here. Most of our days are spent checking the stock or helping people look through the piles. We keep a good amount of inventory because you never know what someone might be looking for on a Tuesday afternoon. The dust gets everywhere, especially when the wind picks up off the highway. It is just part of the job. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. Just a simple place where we keep the marble and do our work. Sometimes it’s quiet, and other times there are trucks moving in and out all morning. We just try to keep things organized as best as we can. Every piece of stone has its own look, and we spend a lot of time moving them around so people can see the patterns clearly. It’s hard work on the back, but seeing the yard full is a good feeling. We’ve seen the road change over the years, but our little corner here stays pretty much the same. We just show up, open the gates, and see what the day brings.
