Suman Marble & Granite

You can find us right along N.H. 8 in Morchana. We are pretty close to the canal, which is a nice landmark for people trying to find the place. Being on the highway means we see a lot of people just passing through on their way to other cities. Suman Marble & Granite has been operating here for a good while now. The work is mostly about moving heavy pieces of stone from one side of the yard to the other. Granite is especially heavy, so we have to be careful with the machinery. In the summers, it gets incredibly hot out here on the road. The canal nearby helps a little bit with the heat, or maybe it's just in my head, but a breeze helps. We keep a variety of blocks and cut slabs ready for viewing. Usually, the trucks come in late at night or very early in the morning. Then the whole day is spent sorting through what we got and making sure nothing is cracked. It’s a simple life. We don’t have any fancy sales pitches or brochures. If someone likes a particular pattern in the granite, they take it. Every stone is different, which makes the work interesting I guess. We spend a lot of time just walking around the yard with customers, looking at different stacks. Sometimes we have tea while waiting for the next person to pull over. It’s just the way things go here.
