About Somani Marble & Stone – Building & Construction Material in Rajsamand
At Somani Marble & Stone, we spend most of our time out on the Amet-Kelwa Road in Baman Tukda. This area is famous for stone, so it makes sense that we’re set up here. Our yard is full of different slabs of marble and various stones we’ve collected. It’s a dusty place, to be honest. There’s always the sound of cutting or the noise of a crane moving something heavy. We don’t have a polished showroom with air conditioning. People come here, walk through the rows of stone, and pick out what they like. Some days the sun is really hot and the stone gets warm to the touch. We handle the cutting and the basic prep work right here on site. My crew has been working with marble for a long time, so they know how to handle the blocks without breaking them. Baman Tukda is a bit of a drive for some, but if you want to see the variety, you have to come out to the source. We don't do much advertising. Most people hear about us from their contractors or neighbors who bought from us before. We just try to keep a good stock of the local marble. It's hard work, and your clothes are always covered in white dust by the end of the day. But we like seeing a raw block of stone turn into something someone will put in their home. We just keep the saws running and the trucks moving. It is a slow process but worth it.
