Shri Shivkripa Marble

Shri Shivkripa Marble is located right on the Kelwa-Amet Road in Baman Tukda. If you drive down this way, you will see a lot of dust because there is so much stone work happening. Our place is easy to spot because of the big blocks piled up near the entrance. It is a very hot place in the summer, and the sun reflects off the white stone so we all wear hats. My family has been around this area for generations. We decided to set up here because the road is good for the big trucks to come and go. Dealing with marble is a slow process. You have to be careful not to crack the pieces when moving them. We use some old machinery that makes a lot of noise but it still works fine. Sometimes visitors get lost looking for Baman Tukda but once they hit the main road they find us. We don't have a fancy showroom. Everything is just out there in the open air. We talk to the truck drivers and the laborers every day. It is a simple life centered around the stone. We don't spend money on advertising because the word of mouth is enough. People know where to find Shri Shivkripa Marble if they are building something nearby. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The days are long but we are happy with what we do here. It is just about getting the stone cut and loaded onto the trailers without any trouble.
