Shri Pratibha Marble

You can find us on the Nh-8 in Rajsamand, specifically in the Badarda area. It’s a long stretch of road with a lot of marble shops, and we are just one of them sitting along the highway. We’ve been here long enough that we don’t really notice the noise of the trucks anymore. The days are long and usually involve a lot of sweat and white dust. We have a variety of marble slabs sitting out in the yard under the sun. Every morning, we go out and check if anything shifted overnight or if we need to reorganize. Rajsamand is famous for this stuff, so there is always someone looking for stone for their home. We don't do anything special to get people in. They just see the sign and pull their trucks over to take a look. We spend a lot of time with a measuring tape in hand, checking the thickness and the length of the pieces. It’s not a very complicated business, but it requires you to be careful with the material. One wrong move and a big slab is ruined. We have some guys who have been with us for years and they know the stone better than anyone. We just keep the yard running and try to stay out of the midday heat when we can. It’s just regular work on the highway.
