Shri Arihant Marble

Our place, Shri Arihant Marble, is located right on N.H. 8 in Piparda. We are directly opposite the Bholenath Weigh Bridge, which is a big landmark around here. Since we are on the highway, we see a lot of traffic passing by all day and night. The sound of trucks shifting gears is basically the background music to our work. Being across from the weigh bridge is actually pretty handy because we always know when a heavy load is coming through. Our yard is filled with various blocks and slabs that we’ve collected over time. It gets very dusty being so close to the main road, so we are constantly cleaning off the marble so people can see the real texture. We don't have a big fancy showroom with glass windows. It’s mostly just an open space where the stone sits under the sky. We have a small cabin where we sit and drink tea while waiting for customers. Most people who stop are just driving through and happen to see our sign. We talk to them, show them around, and tell them what the prices are. There’s no pressure or anything. We just want to get the stone sold so we can bring in new stock. It’s a straightforward business. The highway life is fast, but inside the yard, things move a bit slower as we carefully handle each piece of stone.
