Shree Venktesh Marbel & Granite

Down here in the Shivpuri Industrial Area, things are always a bit loud. We’re tucked away in the Mohi taluka, right near Kankroli village. If you’ve ever been to this part of the district, you know it’s all about the marble. It’s the main thing around here. We spend our days surrounded by these massive blocks that come in from the nearby mines. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons, hitting the white stone and making everything look extra bright. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy office. It’s more of a small room where we keep the ledger and escape the dust for a few minutes. Most of our guys have been with us for years. They know how to spot a crack in a slab from twenty feet away. We work through the heat and the noise of the saws. It’s a tough life in the industrial area, but it’s what we know. People come from all over to see what kind of marble we’re cutting this week. Sometimes we have a lot of granite too, depending on what’s available. Kankroli is a hardworking place, and we just try to keep up with everyone else. There’s always a truck waiting to be loaded or a block waiting to be squared up. It never really stops, and the white dust covers everything by the end of the shift.
