Shree Naman Marble

You can find us at Shree Naman Marble on the Nathdwara Road in Piparda, right off N.H. 8. It’s a good location because so many people travel this way to go to the temple. We see a lot of faces, though most of them are just driving by. Our yard isn't the biggest, but we pack a lot of marble into it. We try to keep the slabs organized by color or where they came from, but it usually ends up getting a bit mixed up as we move things around for customers. It’s just me and a couple of helpers most days. We don't have any fancy computer systems or anything like that. We just write things down in a notebook and keep track of what goes out on the trucks. Sometimes we have to spend the whole afternoon just cleaning the slabs so people can see the patterns in the stone. The water gets everywhere and it’s a bit of a chore, but you have to do it. Piparda is a busy area for stone, so there is always someone around if you need a hand with something. We have been here for a while and we don't plan on going anywhere else. It’s a steady life. We open up the gates in the morning, have our tea, and wait for the first truck to arrive. It’s not a complicated business, just moving stone and talking to people who need it for their homes.
